1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing the Guideline Electronics website, mobile applications, retail locations, or using any of our services (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
You must be at least 18 years old, or have a parent or legal guardian's consent, to create an account or make a purchase. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.
2. Your account
To access certain features (loyalty points, order history, saved addresses, lessons, travel bookings) you must create an account.
- You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information and to keep it updated.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activities under your account.
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account at security@guideline.com.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, attempt fraud, or abuse our systems.
3. Products and services
We sell electronics, musical instruments, household goods, and curated travel services. Product descriptions, photos, and specifications are provided in good faith but may contain typographical errors or omissions. We reserve the right to correct errors, refuse or limit orders, and discontinue any product at any time.
Color, finish, and minor cosmetic variations may exist between online imagery and the physical product. Bulk and B2B orders are subject to separate written quotations and may have different terms.
4. Pricing and payment
All prices are listed in your selected currency (USD or JMD). Prices are subject to change without notice but apply at the time of order confirmation. Promotional codes, discounts, and member pricing have eligibility rules disclosed at point of use.
- Accepted payment methods include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, store credit, and (in-store) cash and approved personal checks.
- Taxes (GCT, Sales Tax, or applicable VAT) are calculated at checkout based on shipping or pickup location.
- Financing through Affirm, PayPal Pay-in-4, or our in-house 0% APR offers is subject to credit approval and provider terms.
- Failed payments, chargebacks initiated outside our refund policy, or fraudulent transactions may result in account suspension and collection action.
5. Shipping and delivery
We ship via FedEx, UPS, USPS, and DHL. Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed. Risk of loss passes to you upon delivery to the carrier; however, we will assist with carrier claims for lost or damaged shipments reported within 14 days.
International orders are subject to import duties, taxes, and customs clearance procedures imposed by the destination country. These are the customer's responsibility unless otherwise stated.
6. Returns, refunds and warranty
You may return most items within 30 days of delivery in original condition for a full refund. Exceptions: custom-built or personalized items, opened consumables, digital products and software once delivered, and used travel bookings (which follow separate cancellation rules).
Electronics and instruments are covered by our 2-year Guideline Protection against manufacturing defects. Accidental damage, loss, theft, and unauthorized modifications are not covered. Optional Extended Protection Plans available at point of sale add accidental damage coverage.
Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days to the original payment method. Choosing store credit adds a 10% bonus.
7. Music lessons and rentals
Lesson packages are non-refundable but credits remain valid for 12 months from purchase. Cancellation of an individual lesson must occur 24 hours in advance to avoid forfeiture. Rentals and rent-to-own arrangements are governed by the separate rental agreement signed at the start of the rental term.
8. Travel services
Travel bookings (resorts, tours, transfers, concierge) are subject to the terms and cancellation policies of the underlying provider, plus our service terms. Cancellations are typically free up to 48 hours before check-in unless otherwise noted on the booking. Travel insurance is recommended and available from $24.
We act as an agent for travel suppliers. Where suppliers fail to perform or default, our liability is limited to the amounts you have paid us; we will, however, advocate on your behalf and assist with refund pursuit.
9. Acceptable use
When using the Services you agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information;
- Scrape, copy, or republish our product catalog or content without permission;
- Interfere with the Services or other users (DDoS, spam, malware);
- Use the Services for any unlawful purpose; or
- Impersonate any person or entity.
10. Intellectual property
All content on the Services — including the Guideline Electronics name, logo, product imagery, copy, and software — is owned by Guideline Electronics or its licensors and protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. You may not use any of it for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Guideline Electronics and its officers, employees, agents, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or use, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from the Services is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
12. Disputes and governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 60 days, the dispute shall be referred to binding arbitration in Kingston, Jamaica, conducted in English, under the rules of the Dispute Resolution Foundation of Jamaica. Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking equitable relief in court for intellectual property infringement.
